We overturned a 24-point deficit to defeat TUSK Foundation 88-75 at El Wak in one of the most remarkable games of the 2026 Accra Basketball League season.
A Difficult Return
Following several postponements, we finally returned to competitive action against last season’s finalists, TUSK Foundation.
We entered the game carrying not just the unbeaten streak stretching across four consecutive seasons but also a 9-0 win rate in the 2026 ABL regular season. That record makes us the team everyone wants to beat.
TUSK arrived ready to do exactly that.
TUSK Take Control
TUSK were phenomenal throughout the opening half. Their defense disrupted us, while their pace, execution and energy produced a stream of baskets and highlight plays. We looked exactly like a team that had not played competitively in over a month.
By halftime, we trailed by 15 points but that gap was wider (24) at a point during the second quarter. The game appeared settled.
The Third Quarter Boys Arrive
With our eight-year dynasty and unbeaten record on the line, we responded. The intensity changed. Our defense tightened. The baskets began to fall.
One possession at a time, we erased the deficit and transformed the atmosphere inside El Wak. Our fans, who had spent the first half preparing for the inevitable banter, were suddenly on their feet.
Basket after basket. Cheer after cheer. The Third Quarter Boys had arrived.
Another Night for the History Books
We completed the comeback and pulled away to secure an 88-75 victory. The final score looked comfortable. The game was anything but.
TUSK produced an outstanding performance and pushed us to our limit. What followed was one of the finest comebacks and most entertaining contests the Accra Basketball League has witnessed.
Our streak survived. Our dynasty lives and the the Third Quarter Boys proved they were the best to ever do it.
